A rich expression, gaining weight and beautiful leesy richness from extended time in barrel. Hazelnuts, lees, creme brûlée, butter and vanilla backed by generous mineral feel and some phenolic structure. You could easily say New World with the rich fruit, but the Maconnais core is under the fleshy goodness. A fine example of oxidative winemaking that is very complimentary to the wine.

@delectable this is Domaine Saumaize-Michelin Pouilly-Fuisse Ampelopsis. Ampelopsis is only made from the best years, is a barrel selection from multiple terroirs, and sits on lees a year longer than typical Pouilly-Fuisse. Pretty fucking delicious Chardonnay.
