Clos Beatus Ille Côtes du Rhône Grenache Blend

This captures the style of Saint Préfert quiet well with its sleek profile, freshness and lifted aromatics. This has some serious class for its CDR origin, very pure and elegantly structured. Fresh to overripe black fruit, stones, candied olive, smoke and lavender. There’s a hint of meaty-ness as well. The florals are this wines most intriguing component, coupled with the snap of acid the blend has, tremendous value. 85 GR 15 CI, “la Lionne” in Sorgues, gallets soils, full concrete

Perfumed and lovely but I don’t quite believe the 13.5% ABV, this was pushing into 15ABV territory. Needs more time to gain some complexity but pretty approachable now. Just wish it were not so “hot.”

Tastes just like you'd imagine a raw gem stone of the same color would taste like in a Roald Dahl-imagined universe.

Wonderful lite-bodied CDR, w/ charming spice. @jmolesworth1 says it "reveal[s] a gentle shiso leaf hint." I call BS. But I quite like it.

Used for the first time my Coravin 6 on this delicious wine with flavours of cherry, plum, leather and smoke. Well balanced with distinguished tannins!

Tastes like deception in the best possible way. That long spicy finish is fantastic
