Domaine Saint-Germain
Le Pied de la Barme Vin de Savoie Mondeuse Noir
Wonderfully mineral herbal sappy smoky. Quite unusual.

Sep 22nd, 2015Deep ruby, bilberries and blackcurrants then, on the palate, tannic, oaky notes bob up. Fortunately these dissipated as we enjoyed the wine with our meal.
Made in the seriously hot year, 2003, by very young vignerons who continue to impress!
The, early, Nomacorc used has held up well too.

Mondeuse is an unusual varietal which is one of the reasons I enjoy it. This one isn't my fav but it paired well with an ancho chile and cocoa rubbed pork tenderloin. Smooth and lighter in color but flavorful and spicy
