Domaine Rollin Père et Fils
Les Vergelesses Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Quite reductive and mentholated on the nose. Youthfully clenched but good underlying and promising material.

Tasty but young. I hate restaurant wine lists sometimes.

Very tasty. Smooth, easy drinking. Hints of dark fruit but pleasant that there’s nothing overwhelming or overpowering. Great time to drink the 2012.

Barnyard, Forrest, menthol, cherries. Bigger in style than I was expecting. Long lingering finish of cherries and hint of herbs.

A bottle I had a couple of years ago was much more expressive than this one. This needed aggressive swirling and lots of air to coax the aromatics. The palate had a nice core of cherry fruit that became more apparent the more air it received.
