Morgeot-Clos Pitois Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Very rounded and fruity. Dark cherry and wet crushed stone on the nose and palate. Smidge of leather and sea brine.

Clos Pitois in Chassagne is about 100 meters from Clos des Gravieres in Santenay. This wine was richer and rounder than the 2013 Hubert Lamy Santenay. Not as minerally, but equally good.

Muted nose. Reserved cranberry fruit. Dusty tannins. Solid, but not exciting. It works for a Wednesday night.
