Rouge Vin de Pays d'Oc Cabernet Franc

A blend of 56% Cabernet Franc, 30% Syrah, 14% Merlot, the blend varies a bit each vintage. Another wine from winemaker/oenologist Jeff Carrel's broad portfolio. Deep red with big fruit aromas with a touch of spice. On the palate ripe blackberry and cherry flavors with spicy licorice notes on rustic tannins. Medium finish ending with an earthy character. More extracted style of Cab Franc, nice violet & gamey characteristics.

Tart, sour fruit on way to Undrinkable. As is, just barely. Too bad. Love Cab Franc.

Vin de pays d'Oc 2008 from cabernet, syrah and merlot. Puydeval has medium weight, cherry nose and balanced taste. Excellent with pasta!

Hand picked selections. Languedoc. 62 Cab Franc 26 Syrah 10 Merlot. Don't be fooled by the Franc, this wine is dark and fat. Like Bordeaux meets Rhone, a truly original wine.

Unusual blend of Cab franc Syrah Merlot. Dark garnet color. Dark red fruits and earthy hints of menthol nose. Good firm texture and medium length. Good AA 8 value.

BTG at Red Hen. Very much on the medicinal side out of the bottle. Slight rustic quality to it, too.
