Lemon curd, citrus, chalk & mineral that is rich with good intensity on the palate that builds with racy acids.

This was a surprise after I poured it into my glass & saw the deep golden orange color thinking this would be over the hill & oxidized but it turned out to be very fresh, with good richness & balance of fruit showing a nutty, orange honeyed citrus with chalk, mineral & racy acids.

2002 vintage. At 34 in Mayfair. Medium lemon gold hue. On the nose, medium concentration of ripe lemon, exotic fruits (roasted pineapple) and crushed stone minerality. Honeyed. On the palate, medium acidity, smooth and textured, medium alcohol, medium plus concentration and medium finish. Some oxidation and nutty honeyed notes on the mid palate. Mature but decent. Drink now. Unlikely to improve with further ageing. 90 points.
