Jul 18th, 2015Definitely the best bottle of this we have had - and unfortunately our last! No decant, but let this “slow ox” for several hours. Fun wine to cap off the week of our son’s first birthday. Dusty rose and some lovely earthy red fruit on the nose - almost like cherries or strawberries growing in a mushroom patch. Exquisite mouthfeel - hits every part of the mouth, perfect acid, great length, exceptionally seamless. Really one of the best wines I’ve had, ever. Paired with a simple roast chicken with mushrooms cooked in the chicken drippings.

Jul 31st, 2022Last bottle of this that we had was about 2 years ago. I think we may have 1-2 left. Definitely no need to wait more, this is in a prime spot. Absolutely beautiful aromatics. So pure and mouth filling and just the hint of secondary fruit starting to poke through. Extremely balanced with beautiful refreshing acid on the finish. Finish itself goes on for quite a while. Excellent pairing with a buttermilk brined roast chicken. What a treat.

Nov 11th, 2018Really disappointing, it finished abruptly and unpleasantly.

Aug 11th, 2018Truly excellent. What a wine. Great drinking window and wouldn’t mind trying in 3-5 years as well. A 1998 Lignier Clos de la Roche is one of the wines that impacted me the most, and was very excited to try Ponsot. Very pure and precise but quite hedonistic. Incredibly mouth filling with a very, very long finish. Excellent balance and mouthfeel. Simply delicious.
