Cuvée des Cigales Chambolle-Musigny Pinot Noir

Fruit seems to be fading. Acidic and savory. Almost a balsamic, Sangiovese-esque note.
More Pintail & Widgeon. 2007 was the last vintage Ponsot used natural cork.

Solid bottle although not as generous as expected. Maybe bottle never had a chance to blossom.

Silky fine tannins, bing cherries, pomegranate, potpourri. Ripe and concentrated.

This is fabulous.

Excellent selection. Very vibrant and youthful with many miles left. Bright, tart cherries, game, and slight smoked essences on the nose. On the palate very charming and graceful, making for one pleasing wine to drink.

Drinking well. Lots of fruit, aromatic, not overpowering tannin.

A reminder on why burgundy is what it is. Delicious and earthy and bloody upon opening, within an hour the fruit started to pop. By hour 2 it was singing - ripe boysenberry, and bing cherry, clove, allspice, pepper, iron and shiitake. It did not disappoint.
