A powerful yet smooth Chateauneuf, great producer that does solid wine even at the entry level wines, should have stocked on more :-)
This 10 year old wine has a deep red color with a light tone of brown, rich ripe nose, full of black cherry, leather, licorice, plums, tobacco, cigar box, and a light touch of barn yard. Full rich body, deep, chewy, with firm yet well integrated tannins, nice acidity, long delicious chewy and dry finish. Still have time to mature, my score 90, drink to 2021 perhaps longer.

Dark, spicy, a little hot, a bit monolithic. Still good, but this hasn't aged as I would've hoped, being less enjoyable than 5 years ago

2005 vintage. Tastes younger than its age -- still good concentration. But tastes a bit raw around the edges, instead of smoothing out. Not sure if this will yet come together...

Reputed to be something special. Warm. A bit soft, but nice.

2005 Domaine Pierre Usseglio & Fils Châteauneuf-du-Pape - Delicious dark fruit with a long mineral-laced finish with a bit of a syrupy edge.

Red and black fruit aromas and flavors, good weight and balance, this is really in a good place, should age longer but really nice maturity tonight!!

Quite pruney and raisiny. Just not what should be but quaffable.

Minerals and kirsh, plus really nice, slightly oaky fruit. Mmmm!

Ripe and feeling it's age. Tasting stewed plums, some dates, dried tobacco and leather with a lite damp earth. Lacking freshness.
