Dark berry red with little violet flecks. The nose is classic Burgundian with plenty of muted fruit and herbaceousness. Dusty cherries, perky strawberries, and black cherries. Earthy elements shine here with plenty of underbrush and stems. Barnyard funk is at a premium but you get enough to keep things interesting. Smoke and spice flourish after an hour of decanting.

Say it with me: 12.5. Appropriate and oh so pleasant. This is a gorgeous everyday Burg. But with nice refinement and loads of character. Still a bit tight and needs time to fully awaken but you’ll be rewarded with terrific balance and structure. Still brooding at the moment but that’s not a bad thing. More juicy red fruits and earth on the palate. Spice on the mid length finish. A Burgundy I could drink everyday and with the value that this is, I can.

Still tight, but just started to show its stuff right as we were finishing the bottle. Would love to try again in 5 years. Lots of promise ahead.
