Crisp, chalky (on refill), tart/green plum fruit. What a great food wine. Paired w home made sushi and pork wonton soup.

Sep 3rd, 2020And now it’s time for my semi-annual attempt to show respect to dry Chenin Blanc. I cannot really remember actually enjoying a dry Chenin Blanc in my lifetime of drinking, but I do respect it. This one’s very respectable. Loads of bruised orchard fruit on the nose. The barest hint of an oxidative note. Lots of wet limestone. Intensely mineral and sour in the mouth. Powerful acids. End of the finish leaves a faintly nutty, fino sherryish taste. Intellectually interesting to me, but it’s just not my thing.
