So young and primary but shows the substance of 18. Nose is so mineral and deep with dark red cherry and mid season cherry and wonderful, expressive minerality. A deep earthy scent as well. Really wonderful depth on this. Palate is juicy and explosive with endless depth and super primary red and black cherry fruit. Super concentrated, structured with a huge, mineral and acid backbone: An epic Dominode. Wait a decade. At least.

Wow on day 2 this is so good. Smoothed out and full of fruit and silky yet substantial tannins. 9.4 to 9.5 overnight. I continue to strongly believe in the 18’s. They are modern day 93’s but better and more overall success across vignerons and appellations.

Punching miles above its weight, there’s a certain gravitas to this Pavelot that’s both cerebral and emotive. Viscosity and grip mark a precise tannic frame with delicate notes of black tea, black cherry and pomegranate. I think I paid <C$50 for this. Has years to go.

2002's drinking so well. Berry, dusty earth, floral nose. Sappy, dense with lovely sweet fruit and very intense. With air this really gets a lacey texture. Incredible. Better than 2001. And 2001 is incredibly good.

Sappy and fresh. Bright cherry and some blue fruit. Good structure. Not too ripe. Vivid.

A lot to like here, but in the end it is disjointed and grumpy.

Somehow linear. I struggle with this. Even with days on my Argon line and lots of air not really that good. Chalky and dark cherry touch bitter but there really are not any secondary flavors. ‘May be in a bad place right now.’ Wait 3 more years?
