Domaine Palon
Vacqueyras Grenache Blend
An excellent value at $20. Jeb Dunnuck nails it, "a smoking effort that delivers tons of Provencal charm. Strawberries, spice box, dried flowers and Provencal herb..."

Jun 22nd, 2020Nice 75/10/15 GSM blend from this small estate in Vacqueryas. Domaine Palon is small but the wines they make from Gigondas and Vacqueryas are very good. Not complex, but concentrated plum, black fruit, licorice, and wild herbs. Great wine to curl up with for a Friday night movie. 2017 vintage on Jun 9, 2019

Jul 9th, 2019Had this tasty blend at Stem Wine Bar. Solid red blend. Dark ruby-purple color that introduces aromas of black currants, black cherries, red licorice and smoky roasted herbs.

Nov 30th, 2018Very earthy with notes of wet stone, oak, and barnyard funk to it. On the palate, dark fruit, spice, tobacco, mocha, and fresh ground coffee. High alcohol at 14.5% which is easily noted by the strong tearing on the glass. Not one of my favorites, but at $11 it really is not a bad bottle for the price.....much more reasonable than a Chateauneuf du pape.
