Wednesday Wine Committee. 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds and 1 dessert wine. Blind as usual.
The entire room guessed Cali (Sonoma) chard. Initially, it was a dead ringer with creamy vanilla from the oak, lemon bar, and honeysuckle aromatics alongside honeyed brioche, soft cheese and sea salt. When coming back to it later, it had really lightened up and wasn’t near as heavy. Very pleasant.
