Ile des Vergelesses Reserve Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Pinot Noir

I am reminded why I filter wines. After first clean pour, noticed a slimy protein suspended throughout. Not a haze. More like a film yeast or bacteria. Coffee filter and decanted.

Tasted fine, but begs the question, could it have been better?

Pretty rose petal, raspberry and cherry notes. Lovely with the mushroom risotto.

It's just a really tasty bottle of fully mature red Burgundy. Don't know anything about '97 but it seems akin to '09

The aroma from this wine fills the room! However, as delicious and complex as the flavors are, in total it feels subtle and subdued; a couple years past prime. A beautiful acidity remains present from front to back, and makes the wine exceptionally food friendly

Beautiful expression of burg Pinot. The nose exudes terroir and I find it well balanced. I wish I had bought cases of it

Nice funk as an unfiltered Pinot; light fruit. Full but not a whole lot of structure. Very pleasant to drink as it has a long finish but is very smooth.

Just fantastic. Roses, spice, red fruit, grapefruit, and earth.
