The nose is all salt and minerality. Smells like Puligny, driven by finesse and elegance, with hazelnut and saline notes. Rich and complex on the palate, with terrific mineral drive, inner-mouth perfume, depth, concentration, and sappy salinity. Mouthwatering, enormously complex, with terrific acidity balanced by real flesh. Sandstone and clay soils.

Most Macon Chards I’ve had feel like a “ through the looking glass” experience— a few substantial layers removed from the “real” (ie Proper Burgundy) deal; but not this bottle. Velvety texture, full but delicate in the mouth; dandelions & spring grass field after a rain; on palate has this wonderful crushed minerality- almost volcanic, yellow fruits, & the 10 months in barrel are more like a caress than an announcement. Joyous juice, & so amped for the next bottles.
