I was really rooting for this wine. My grandmother Julia was Corsican, after all. But I was very disappointed. I think this went through ML in the bottle. It had noticeable carbonation and the fruit was virtually non existent. The bottle sat partial for a day, and surprise surprise, the CO2 is gone and wouldn't you know, some lovely fruit appeared. I'm sure this was a terrific wine going into the bottle, but was it filtered? How was the bottling sanitation? That first impression was a very poor one

Intriguing, low alcohol blend with lovely aromatics that are just slightly stepped on by brett. Not mad at that, however the dissolved CO2 was way too much. Aggressive decanting fixed that but blew away the pretty aromas. Were they trying to cover for low SO2 additions?

First try of an interesting Corsican wine from K. Lynch. 35% Niellucciu, 30% Grenache, 15% Sciaccarellu, 15% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre, anything else left? Practically screams fun from nose through palate to finish, red fruited and lively at seven years in bottle. Great with Evan’s ribs.

Tastes like a S. Rhône blend went to Italy— which is pretty much what it is from the blend. Warm red fruits with some black, with savory herbs and sun dried tomatoes. Had with a roast chicken with roast veggies sprinkled with Italian herb mix and sun dried tomatoes and garlicky mashed cauliflower. Worked quite well.

Nose- a little musty, wet moss. Med body, gentle but present tannins. Blueberry, cherry palate.
