Slightly darker in color than its peers, the 2017 Chablis Les Vaudésir Grand Cru has an expressive bouquet with a fair smack of oak that partly clouds the terroir and renders this a little generic. Returning after 10 minutes, there are some sulfur issues here. The palate is well-balanced, however, with enticing nectarine and clementine notes, good depth and a supple, almost caressing finish. Juicy acidity with citrus and mineral. Crisp but with a lingering hints of melon. Pale gold and the intensity of color has definitely bled, but the flavor has held up.

2009. Hints of cucumbers, peaches, slight hints of butter and some flint. Nice nose, but not typical chablis. Peaches, flint, some slight butter notes. Medium bodied, medium acid and a soft buttery finish. A nice wine with good balance but not typical of chablis.
