Domaine les Alexandrins
Intuition Vin De Pays Des Collines Rhodaniennes
Been a while since I've checked into the '13. Nose had a little stank to it. Should blow off. Under that is some nice cherry and granite slabs. Palate is so juicy and it almost painfully intense in its tiny berry fruit character and finishes off with a super granite finish. Lipsmacking wine and a great and original Gamay.

Jul 31st, 2017So distinctive. One of my favorite Gamays of all time. That ridiculous Northern Rhine granitic minerality really works with this grape. Amazing value.

Jul 23rd, 2017Always terrific. Always Gamay and always shows the terroir of St. Joseph so well, where these vines are grown. Huge granitic nose, spice, mineral and and overall impression of rocks. Palate is so juicy on this darker interpretation of Gamay. Big, ripe, fiercely tannic, yet fresh deep and balanced. Terrific tannic bite full of granite and fruit. Great wine.

Jun 15th, 2017Such nice and different type of Gamay character than in Beaujolais. Graphite, granite, dark berries, cocoa, with a juicy mineral and deep palate. Toothsome as they say with slabs of granitic minerality on the palate. A terrific value.
