Reddish tawny. Needed 6+ hours of air for the nose to open up. Notes of bing cherry, asian spice, dark earth and some rhubarb. Great funk and mouth feel. These 93s are barely budging out of their shells. This bottle needed at least 5 more years of slumber to round out, IMO.

Jun 26th, 2021Still mostly ruby with a noble darkness. Nose of blackberry, five spice, graphite and cherry. Still primary in the mouth with lots of structure and grip. Chewy. With air the wine mellows over several hours, and with the oxygen it develops more complexity and intensity. Expect that this will get better with 5-10 more years of bottle age.
