Domaine Leroy
Leroy d'Auvenay Bourgogne Pinot Noir
Never saw this label before
1985 - still a good core of fruit, macerated cherry then blood iron tarragon - a fantastic Bourgogne generic

Cherry, earth, iron, cinnamon spice and blood orange. Still youthful and drinking beautifully.

Jan 31st, 2016Still alive, but in agony. I think I was 10 years late with this one. Lots of browning, almost red brick kind of colour. Bits of cherry, oak bark, truffle and plums on the nose. Palate is uninspiring, traces of past glorious acidity made me a little sad. Still very much drinkable, but definitely way past its prime.

Nov 26th, 2015Fuck you cork! Opened two bottles, but we were in no luck. What an oddity though. Anyone know anything about this Leroy bottling. A precursor to D'Auvenay perhaps? 🤔
