Domaine Le Bout du Monde
L'echappée belle Rouge Syrah
Man. Struggled through this bottle. Started off promising but quickly went downhill. VERY unfiltered, as easily seen by the dark, non-evenly distributed clouds that swirled in the glass. I’m getting weary of natural wines lately and this is a good reminder of why. I didn’t get the normal Brettanomyces funk of most natural wines, just an odd/off cherry aroma and some indecipherable floral scents. Candy flavors and a tart-iness that stung my tongue a bit. Jill couldn’t finish her glass, but i powered through two more before giving up.

Nov 7th, 2014Very funky, complex, and variable, even within the bottle. Often an olive note. Somewhat beyond my wine vocabulary. Had several bottles. Always an adventure. Highly recommended for the adventurous!
