Nose is a bit woody but always classy with tiny berry fruit intensity. Stunning purity.

This is a great spot. Wow. Gorgeous red fruits. Licorice. Gorgeous flowers. Limestone. What depth. Mid season cherries. Super complex nose. 9.6 nose. Juicy and so energetic. Lovely mid season red cherries. Nose is confectionary now. So loose in the mouth. Juicy as god all and so linear. Stunning. In the perfect spot.

Always one of the best 1er crus in Volnay Boussey does wonders with this site. Bright and in your face nose of black and red cherries and a wallop of limestone intensity. Just stunning. Super floral and so broad but precise. This has serious aromatic breadth. Wow the palate is a laser with sweet, elegant fruit and stunning purity. Deep and sweet with such grace and refinement. Delicious and so long. This is ridiculous. Wow. More notes as it opens up.

Awesome nose here. Super floral and so mineral. Deep black cherry fruit and huge kirsch. Jelly donut? But in the best way possible. Superb mineral depth. Insane fruit depth on the palate. Huge power and concentration. Wow this needs some air. Tight. Coiled. So much material but right. I’ll be back. 9.3 for now. I can tell this needs air. Insane sweetness on the palate and such amazing texture now that it’s gotten some air. Wow this is so deep. 9.4 now. Only gonna get better.

What a nose. Out of this world. Candied mid season cherries. Outrageously confectionary and so so aromatic. An aromatic assault. Amazing fruit. So ripe. But so pretty. Floral as well. Gorgeous limestone minerality. Palate is ripe and sweet, with painful tiny berry fruit intensity and such energy and a balance. So elegant with graceful and sweet tannins. Terrific inner mouth aromas and structured. Complex, fresh and concentrated. Young but not inaccessible. Outrageous. Another that is almost a 9.5, but right now a 9.4. We will see with air.

Nose is deep and tight with a nice core of mineral and big black cherries. Really needs an hour but it keeps revealing new nuance every 5 minutes. Likely due to the 100+ year old vines. Palate is juicy and so refreshing with wonderful purity but also you can tell it has great material but needs to come together with air. Terrific balance and length. Such a baby. Needs 5 years but a fun preview.

Look 👀 at my old note!!!! I questioned this wine. Burghs are tricky. Yet this one turned out quite simply great!!!!! Much more body than the Haisma a big wine from a top vineyard. Dark fruit components very dark cherries, plenty of tannins, astringent underripe peach, give it 4-5 more years. A benchmark wine.

A correction!!!! What happened? I needled this wine 🍷 Coravin. Then 4 weeks later i popped it and attached the bottle to my Argon house line - it’s changed! Last time it was a dud. 7.8.
Now dark berries still not overly complex - linear. Chalky with a touch of lavender. Black Tea. This might just need a ton of air and years to come around. Still compared to other 15 burgundies just OK.

Everyone tries to find the next big thing in burgundy but despite carrying the name of a great vineyard this is not it. There is no depth in this wine just basic cranberries and a chalky tartness. I doubt this will ever be special.
