Wow, what an impressive showing. Grabbed on a whim and I'm glad I did. Single vineyard Chablis sitting at the base of the 1er cru vineyard Vaillons and it certainly drinks like PC juice. Loads of minerals and saline notes - one of the few Chablis I've had recently that have that distinctive "oyster shell" quality. It tastes like an ice bed of fresh oysters. Beautifully high acid, lime, crisp apple, and baked almond/marzipan. Great with citrus-glazed salmon and alfreddo.

The Vieille Voye vineyard was planted before the 16th century by the Pontigny abbots, who named it after the old Roman road that connected Burgundy with Champagne. This single Vineyard is a big step above their entry level wine. Nose of ripe fruit with sweet spice. On the palate ripe peach and tropical fruit and sweet spice coming from 11 months of oak aging. Lingering finish, lively acidity ending with chalky mineral tones. Tasting Sample.

From a vineyard dating back to the 1600s, this is very good old-style Chablis. Laser-sharp focus and not more than a breath of old wood. Very pretty.

Coming from a plot vineyard at vielle voye. Pure and clean, needs time.
