Dark purple. Next to fresh tomatoes and braised chard this showed more herbal notes than fruit with a resinous tobacco aroma. Would be delicious with the right food, grilled meat but a miss for my menu.

Sep 14th, 2014Chilean Carmenere from a Chablis producer; count me in. However this is their negociant label. It has a deep purple color, a hint of the peppery spic I hope for with the grape but lacks a bit of structure and length. Still good value.

I almost never post about a 9 dollar bottle of wine I opened with my Chinese food but I had to make an exception. This wine was lovely. Tons of pepper and tannin that reminds me of chateaunuf. Excellent. Thanks JR
