Domaine Laroche
Les Clos Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay
This is a model of restraint with purity and balance. The nose presents citrus notes. Palate is warm and inviting. Nice notes of baked bread in the foreground. Smooth, soft and round on the finish. Moderate acidity and sweetness completes a beautiful package. More of an intellectual proposal. Hugely understated in a very subtle way.

Jul 9th, 2023The 2019 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru has a lovely yellow plum and jasmine nose, hints of saffron emerging with aeration. The palate is very well balanced, with dried peaches, green olive and a pinch of spice, maybe just missing a little persistence but very well defined. Excellent. (Neal Martin, Vinous, October 2021)

Jun 29th, 2021Very linear and fresh for a 2015 Les Clos. Delicious key lime and lemon curd on the finish.

Mar 16th, 2019The 2016 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru comes from the bottom and mid-slope part of the vineyard and is aged 100% in used demi-muids. It is blessed with one of my favourite bouquets from Laroche this year: beautifully entwined scents of white flower, oyster shell and gunflint, touches of wet granite and struck flint coming through with aeration. The palate is very well balanced with crisp acidity, the wood exquisitely enmeshed with the fruit and delivering a wonderful, precise, slightly nutty, smoky finish. Superb! Aug 14th, 2018Just opening up, good saline and chalky breed. Good mix of stone fruit and green notes, some leesy notes. Lightly kernel. Good mouthfeel, medium body, textured, creamy, but good acidity behind it. Like to see this is 2-3 years
