Fruity nose of blueberries, cherries, earth, licorice, oak, vanilla, potpourri, soap, spices and peppercorn.
Medium bodied with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with sour cherries, tart cranberries, raspberries, light oak, vanilla, earth, spices, peppercorn and herbs.
Medium plus in finish with fine grained tannins and tart cranberries.
This is an above average red wine from France. Not fully balanced with nice complexity. A little too tart for my taste, with a bitter ending.
A good food wine, but not one to have by itself at this point. Would benefit from an additional year or two in the bottle. Needs an hour to open up properly.
100% Caringnan grapes.
