SommSelect winner. This 2016 red blend is a perfect complement to any Mediterranean dinner. Rich, but not overly ripe, balancing acidity, and thoroughly enjoyable for $24. Would buy again.

High extract, heavy fruit and aggressive tannins. Nice complexity and impact, a powerful wine with a lot to offer at the always modest price point but simply doesn’t display the balance and intrigue of the 2014 or the 2016 which are by far more classic vintages.

Vineyard surrounded by garrigue, and it shows. Unbeatable quality for the pricetag.

Deep garnet color with those lovely purple hints that I only see in S. Rhône beauties. Nose is strawberry jam, dehydrating plums, pomegranates, kiss of fig, garrigue, black licorice, savory/umami notes. Getting more roasted plum, roasted herbs, pepper, coffee. Elevated alcohol adds a warmth and depth to the the core of the wine. Plush up front immediately followed by raspy spice notes and lovely astringent but pleasurable notes. Great Ventoux that elicits your attention only to jolt you about after it gains it. Oh it costs $20

One day I'm going to find a Grenache I like. This was not that day.

Beguiling medium garnet hue, a hint of violet coming thru both in color and aroma upon swirling. Set your nose this task: seek out the rhubarb spread notion, the pomegranate seed explosion, the Christmas cake concoction. From there, have your palate investigate the suggestion of pink peppercorn, juicy red plum, dash of herbal savior faire and flirtation of holly. Want more? Take in the oak leaf in autumn, the micro-plane-d cherry Starburst, the peppy minerality. That all this delicious comes replete in a lean, generous-but-decent profile rife with energetic-freeze-dried-strawberry attitude and a POV calibrated to the always-a-good-idea South of France 👉🏻 means you'll be super happy sipping this on your porch come Saturday. And really, what more do we want??

1 of the best kept secrets in the Southern Rhone. Leather bound strawberry blossoms on spiced embers.

Gorgeously plummy / blackberry blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Counoise. Sourced from high-altitude, limestone soils, it's voluptuous but briskly balanced. Drink after 2 to 3 years.

Well balanced with notes of black cherry. Great on a cold winter night.
