A light, almost clear garnet color with thin edges. A shy, subdued nose of forest floor and just enough fruit. Dark cherries, fresh herbs, and Newports are secondary. Distinctively Anjou. Varietally correct. This is so quintessentially Loire Valley Cabernet Franc and incredibly fresh. Much more savory than a fruit bomb, the herbal essence and menthol provide that extra something. Light bodied with nice minerality, it’s a bit shy upon opening but give it a few hours and she’ll open up. The palate follows the nose closely with all the earthiness you can handle. Blue and blackberries play a part, along with green pepper and more herbs. The finish is short but with some nice hints of truffle. Excellent qpr on this baby. Really nice stuff.

Mar 23rd, 2023It’s got a chewy Chardonnay thing… I liked it ice cold but was less of a fan as it warmed up — too much going on. Paired beautifully with French fries! Not at all with seafood.
