Les Ranches Ladoix Pinot Noir

so good and rich and wonderful rich and elegant. so pure and so finessed, nose is raspberry, great juiciness

In a glorious place. Gorgeous spice. Menthol, sour red cherries, super earthy and mineral. Oozing of terroir. Palate is fresh and energetic wirh bright mid season cherry fruit. Insane limestone freshness and minerals on the finish. Velvety tannins. Really clean and well made. Likely will gain more fruit and depth once it opens.

Lipstick like cherry fruit. Ripe and so expressive. Loads of spice. Good depth. Palate is rich, giving and so forward and deep. Wow. Palate impact is great. Velvety tannins, terrific freshness and mice mineral twang on the finish. Great purity. Really terrific. Lovely sweetness.

I will start this note by acknowledging it is ridiculous that I am opening any Burgundy that has barely been bottled 1.5 years, but here we are tonight...

Nose has ripe cherry, cedar box (light), dark spices (anise and star anise mostly), wet loam (light), raw cane sugar and partially dried cherry

Palate has dehydrated cherry, yet concentrated, mild tannins, blackberry (light), very mild oak, ripe black cherry, a medium-long finish. The semi-dried cherry concentrate on the finish is just crazy, I can't believe this wine is this young; WTF, wow!

Paired alongside some sous vide beef filet mignon, pan finished with butter basting on the stove, and potatoes from our garden, finally dug last weekend. All so amazing!

Decanted ~4 hours.

Black cherry and a touch of rustic sap. Pretty much everything you’d want in Ladoix, along with a gentle price tag. More proof here of how dense and pure so many ‘15 Burgundies are.

Big sunkissed nose. Bright deep rich and ripe cherry fruit. Deep spice, nuts and mineral. Huge enveloping deep nose. So much depth. Wonderful and wafting. Ripe and juicy but also significantly tannic with deep cherry fruit. Terrific freshness and the fruit is layered, complex and just this short of sweet. Very pure. Lovely. Long mineral finish. Much longer than I would think. Fruit soaked and such nice balance. Explosive and expansive with some tannins on the finish. This will age and needs maybe 3-4 years. Great.

Killer showing for this. Big ripe cherries and spices. Dark and rich. Sinewy. Sous Bois up the ying yang. So much cherry fruit. Really aromatic. Really great and transformed with a little age. Palate is ripe and rich but with that Cruchandeau freshness and high acidity. Complex and still tannic this is structured enough to age but can be enjoyed now with an hour decant. What a great vintage for Julien. The 2012 amplitude and volume really shows up after an hour. Wish I had more.

Lovely nose of spice and big expressive fruit. Smokey mesquite BBQ as well. Palate is full of fruit and freshness. Needs 45 minute to fill out. Terrific inner mouth aromas and so juicy. Great wine. So long. So well made. Terrific acids and freshness give this great lift.

Awesome, loved this the most of all the @Lyle Fass wines this evening to drink now. A new region and producer for me I am going to seek this one out. Fleshy red fruits with spikes of savory and spice notes in the wine. A pure expression of Pinot Noir, the nose and palate were layered and persistent with a fleshy, medium grain ripe and silky tannic finish. Drink now with an hour, 2 is better of air. Will go this distance 12-15 years easy, maybe 20. Loved this!
