Sigh. By the time the samples got here (delayed 5 times) this and the Puligny were sold out. C’est la vie. This had crazy sexy fruit and such refinement. But also showed a terrific opulence. Wonderful.

Jun 25th, 2021Devastatingly awesome. Pungent and very deep nose. So pure. Stunning vivid fruit. Almost a lipstick stank to it. Bright red and black cherries but they are oozing cherry sap. Really blown away by the nose here. Palate is deep and vibrant with thick, dense black cherry fruit and imposing ripe but substantial tannins. Needs an hour to get there. But oh baby once it does. Exquisite purity and superb concentration. Lovely earthiness and intensity. Superb complexity, length and concentration. Awesome.

Oct 21st, 2019My last 2012. I’m awful at cellaring wines. Gorgeous and classic nose. Rugged NSG but also big black and red cherries, oodles of spice, a hint of herbs, some wonderful tweed jacket and some nice library book. Stunning nose. I gotta age my wines more. Whatever life is short and we could all die tomorrow. Palate has that stunning Cruchandeau Freshness with awesome fruit and serious structure but beautiful rich cherry and black cherry fruit and a sopping amount of it. So dense, juicy and pure. Incredibly long and expressive. Incredible fruit and structure. Just stunning. Will go 15+ more years.

Cherry and sous bois start poking through a very tight shell. I'm a baby killer, but this has nice bones for a village level wine from an unheralded producer.

Forest floor and cherry on the nose. Just crushed early season cherries on the palate. Juicy as can be. Really intense. Fruit acid balance is perfect. Hint of licorice. A simple joy to drink on opening. Needs a several hour decant or overnight stoppered to reveal what it is. Will age wonderfully and optimally needs 2-3 years to really enjoy. No noticeable wood.

Palate out of the gates is juicy and very structured with outstanding length. Great acids and freshness. Such purity. Great sleek fruit and concentration. Needs 2-3 hours to come around. But it is all there.
UPDATE - insane on day 2. Fruit comes through sweet, deep, long and fresh.
