Mazy-Chambertin Grand Cru Pinot Noir

Thicker body and slightly and just slightly overly ripe, floral fruits of; blackberries, black cherries, raspberries and blueberries. Red cola, licorice, moist, creamy, gray clay, dry twig, eucalyptus, soft dark spice, pretty good wood use here, dry, pronounced leather, dry tobacco, dry top soil, pronounced limestone minerals, dry herbs, potpourri, red, dark, blue florals with violets, a little high in the acidity, well balanced, elegant, nicely toned & elegant finish that last nearly 90 seconds and lands on spice, minerals and florals.

Showing to be in a good spot with sufficient air displaying a dark fruited profile with black tea leaves, purple flowers and Rhône like smoked meats. The palate shows great concentration, fruit density and length, but if I were to nitpick I’d say acid shows elevated. Still a lovely wine.

Took a couple of hours to really open up. Nice medium to dark fruit, iron/smoked meat, tar, hints of violets. Nice balanced acidity and lingering finish.

Awesome with coq au vin! Short on the finish in a hot year but a Lucious, dark, brooding attack and mid palate.

Nice wine but showing some overripe elements. Others liked the profile but the slight over ripe element was a negative for me.

The perfume starting to break through but the tannins are pure 1993.

ok, most if the score goes to the nose. nose is Burgundy:-) solid bottle of grand cru. but nose... shines. from the get go. last of three in the past few years and best of the bunch. '93 go to sleep twice?

this is my last of these '95. needed huge air. took three hours to open then a bit flat compared to the '93
