Les Vigneaux Vosne-Romanée Pinot Noir

Dirty mid Ruby in colour - tawny highlights On the nose red fruits (strawberries) with a touch of barnyard. A light to medium weight palate showing red fruits and sweet spice, but essentially a simple uncomplicated wine despite the fact that it cost $180 AUD. This is where good new World Pinots supercede Burgundies like this. The next night a better showing but no great complexity.

Savory red fruit, dried autumn leaves, faint cedar, orange pekoe tea. Silky palate with beautiful finish … still has grip for the age; ripe vintage.

Pas encore prêt, joli fruit mais structure austère

Magistral. Fumé, floral, olive, fin et long.

Vigneux 2006. Surprenant, très fumée.

Just terrific. Transparent ruby, nose of Vosne spice. Tart, minerally, red fruits. A bit of a stemmy note. The finish lingers.

Nice Villages Vosne just a bit down the hill from Romanee St. Vivant.
