Domaine Jean Royer
Le Petit Roy Red Rhône Blend
Nice, pure, high-toned cherry/raspberry fruit in the nose, along with some stony minerality. Almost reminiscent of a garnacha for Navarra. Nice concentration and balance in the mouth. Not complex but pure. Some chalky tannin. Nice pizza wine.

Jul 17th, 2019Smells of an old dusty cellar,
Stocked with oozing pots of fig jam.
After a couple of hours this shows really well, medium body, juicy, dark dried cherries, tarragon, Focused blueberry. Fruity in the best of ways, wondrous mouthfeel, full, and all encompassing. This is really grabbing my attention. Old world, rustic terroir, this is like a high $$ Cali wine. Wow, and yum. Gonna grab at least 6 more of these.

Night one was a hot mess that had me questioning how much the 14.5% was underreported. Night two is settled down but noticeably sweet and somewhat port-like.
