Dark fruits, anise, pepper spice, earth. Little towards new world, but old world still dominates.

Simply delicious! Smooth, round, easy-going yet complex enough to satisfy a jaded palate.

Decanted 2 hours before we arrived at The Bird, this was the "arrival" wine to pair with hummus and olive oil. Acidity on this wine even after 2 hours was quite significant. But the hummus and olive oil and cheeses really paired quite well and allowed this wine to show a nice and slightly youthful dusty raspberry and a hint of mint. Olive and green pepper to the middle. The middle is darker, but still youthful and sweet. Finishes with a lot of restraint. 91 is a fair rating now, and I feel slight improvement is expected, but not much. Fair QPR here at 20 bucks retail.
