Another great Chave. This from a cooler vintage that is still a baby showing black fruits, cedar, olive, forest floor, pepper, licorice & violet.

Barnyard funk, dark cherry, pepper, manure, tar, smoke, lifted violet, and leather. Makes you slow down to take it all in. Palate is in balance, with persisting acidity for the age. Red fruit - cranberry and strawberry - and forest floor. Finish persists carried by acidity more than tannin, dryness is there too. Finish is long and smokey, sexy. Pop and pour and ready to go, but this has many more years in it. Excellent.

A peppery nose bustling with thyme, rosemary and iron. On the palate lovely brambly blue fruit. Cool, balanced intense but not over-ripe. Has years ahead but I like these cooler-tasting vintages
