Échezeaux Grand Cru Pinot Noir

Gorgeous nose of roses, raspberries and mushrooms. Big structure. The tannins are beginning to soften but this easily has another 10 years

Big structure, earthy slate and mushroom notes but after the romanee st vivant it just didn’t have a chance to do better than 2nd

Quite open and compelling, sweet fruit but not cloying, with good tannic and acidic structure, it would be hard to keep my hands off if I owned it, but should become more interesting with age.

Russian River?

Primary, and a 1-2 punch of ripe, black cherry, black licorice, slate. Big tannins. I think it just needs tiiiiimmmmmeeeee.

Sweet burg

Modern power, overpowered by oak tannins like a green power ranger or something. Needs to chill the fuck out. Too expensive. Pretty enjoyable overall because I didn't pay for it.

Nose was dreamy. Still some serious tannins on the palate, but invariably it was a pain free evening.
