Domaine Jean Chauvenet
Rue de Chaux Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Wow what a treat.. a nose chalked full of dried red fruit and spice box, round and textured in the mouth with a silky finish and loads of potpourri.

Short 30 min decant.
Dried red fruits and spice on the nose.
Rounded mouth feel. Black cherry, subtle blackberry, spice box, and a bit of leather.
Very good now and improving still more time

2009 was a great year for burgundy! Decanted for 45 minutes prior to dinner, continued to open up throughout our meal. Black cherry with moderate tannins opening well with slightly smoky overtones. Premier Cru. Can still hold for another 12 years, but why postpone pleasure? Almost enchanting.

Too young to drink, some tartness on the palate, all red fruit.
