Far more green and stemmy than the 2012; still pretty fabulously textured though. Wish I had more 2012.

I love Jamet at all levels but this one did not show its best today. Bright black peppery tones but showed a bit one-dimensional.

I really wanted Aussie shiraz to cheer me up after the rugby, but this will have to do.

shocker: classic Rhone producer, in a great vintage, makes a delicious wine. More refined than I expected; all kinds of awesome.

First time I had this, it was straight from the bottle and the wine was too tight. This time, it decanted for three hours and was so much softer and open. Tasted great. Elegant and less dense than the other syrahs of the evening... more red fruit than purple, and more meat and olives, than herbs
