this was the first red of the night we drank, and the last ~ even amongst CDPs, Super Ts and 100ptBdx we found ourselves revisiting mist and finishing with ~ the perfume wrapped you up like your cosiest bathrobe and the juice seductively sedated yet internally energized

Situated just above Clos St Denis and adjacent to Clos de la Roche, Les Chaffots is one of my favorite 1er crus in Morey-St-Denis. The '09 was tight when I first bought it but showing beautifully tonight.

Cranberry, orange peel, exotic spices. A real sense of place with this Burgundy. I suspect it will be even better in 3 or 4 more years.

Deep, complex and classy, with lovely focus and a fair bit tannin. The glass in a blaze of black cherries, plums, and a touch of coffee bean and a whisper of vanillin oak.
