A dry Loire Chenin I actually am enjoying. I’m not a fan of oxidative wines, generally, and while the lovely, musky pear/quince fruit here has a lightly “bruised” component, that’s as far as it goes. Add to that fruit an intense but soft wet limestoney minerality in the nose. In the mouth, it’s soft, low-toned, and fruity. If this were German I’d say Feinherb. Acidity is soft, but the intensity and purity of flavors is nice. I’m impressed.

Got that 3-day old bruised pear fruit with the barest hint of oxidative quality—which I know is pretty common but I’m highly ambivalent to it. Also wet stream stones. Seriously, there’s a biologic quality like wine made from grapes that were supposed to be foot-trodden, but the foot trodders ended up having sex in the vat instead.

Night 2 notes. Fragrant with rock dust, light pear, white flowers and waxy note. Cracklingly pure in the mouth, with lots of apply fruit and wet stones. Good acids balance it out.

Intense deep apple and pear skin fruit over stones freshly-pulled from a stream. Bone dry and intensely minerally in the mouth. Really shiny acids make the long finish crisp. I'm not a huge fan of Chenin Blanc but even with that headwind I think this is very nice.
