Tasted a quite oxidized and unusual for Chardonnay from this area. I will taste again soon to see if it was that particular bottle or the style of the wine.

Well this was interesting. Opened the first bottle and it didn’t seem like what I remembered. So I opened another, same year, and yup, different. Bottle one, some volatile acidity, mild smell of yogurt but also a bit more oxidized. Second bottle had burnt match reduction, which was missing from the first. 2nd bottle, detectable oak. 1st, no detectable oak. More fresh acidity in 2nd bottle. But 1st did not taste truly oxidized to me, no nutty raisiny flavors. Learn something every day. Will have to research this because it is a small producer and these are same wine same year. Not sure what would cause what I am tasting. PS confirmed the difference with my wife. Not my imagination.
