Domaine Ghislaine Barthod
Les Chatelots Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Pinot Noir
Cherries, vanilla, potpourri, spice and a bit of smoke on the nose. Palate still has a bit of oak sheen initially then opens up and integrates after a couple hours of air, dominated by tart red fruit (cherry, pomegranate, and framed by wood smoke, clove, licorice, dried leaves, and a slightly astringent finish that makes the palate water. Elegant, very chambolle, plenty of structure for the long haul

Aug 6th, 2024Notes consistent with prior. Bright garnet, sappy and a bit astringent, red cherry, red currant, black plum, a bit of smoke, violets, would be great with grilled gamebird
