Balanced and very gulpable. A noticeable step down in elegance and fruit quality from the CdN bottling though, in my experience

Drank this during the CellarTracker Virtual Burgundy Tasting last night via Zoom. My first experience with any of the wines of Domaine Julien. This was a pop and pour situation and I wished I had given it more airtime because this was suuuuuuper primary and tightly coiled. Loads of tart, wild alpine strawberries, like the Smultron you find in a Scandinavian forest, taking center stage. Tongue pricking acidity. Beyond that, there isn’t much more at this stage in development. However, the purity is beyond typical for a humble Bourgogne and a few years in the cellar would do this a great service. I expect better things when the tannins better integrate and secondary characteristics begin to appear. Drink with an extended decant or hold until 2025.
