Having recently consumed the Roulot version, I thought it would be interesting to compare despite being different vintages.
Upon opening , the smile across my face had to be a mile long. Wonderful citrus zest and freshness. Fifteen minutes later I was in a lumber yard. The wood captured the entire bottle and obliterated the fruit. I cannot recall a bottle transforming that quickly!
I kept hoping it would resolve, but I knew deep down that was not likely to happen.

A wine I bought recently to compare to the 2013 Roulot boucheres but drunk a few months ago. Very different style of winemaking ... this had lots of sulfur and a muted nose

A new producer for me that was recommended by the Somm showing rich citrus, pear, mineral & floral notes.

Delicious out of magnum, beautifully balanced between cut and richness. Needs time to develop a little more Meursault character but very promising.

Closed nose. austere palate. upstanding acidity.
After being open for an hour the nose brightened with sweet lemon and baker’s spice oak notes.
Very fun to taste:)

Caramel corn without the sweetness, salted and buttered popcorn balanced well by pear, candied pineapple and dusty tannins, really well put together, crispy creme brulé, creamy in the mouthfeel until the finish where some citrus-like acidity sharpens things up, light bodied. Extremely well balanced and polished. A beautiful Burgundy.

Mushroom, plum, decayed wood, amazing structure, firm tannins, cleansing acidity, blueberry, very well balanced, clean and minerally in the finish. Still young.
