Showing even better than the bottle I had in January, Raveneau’s 05 MDT is brilliant tonight with intense aromatics of rich yellow fruit, wet stones, wildflower honey and exotic spices. The palate is deep and intense with its signature waxy texture, dry yellow extract, and a crystalline minerality that cuts its richness and warmth seamlessly. And tonight what stands out is its density and midpalate volume. It wraps around the palate with stunning length, power, citrusy acids and layered minerality. When 05 MDT is on it’s on! #thundermountain 🥳

Superb bottle. Such incredible depth, amazing density and drive. MDT with age is always a special drinking experience. 05 is in the zone.

Just as with the Dauvissat the other night, initially a bit closed but after an hour shows up emphatically with a smokey minerality, wet whool, lemon peel, hints of acacia honey and a firm power and fresh finish with a touch of an oily texture.

Not quite as heady as the Grand Crus but love these liberally powerful wines!

2005 vintage. Don't love the vintage but this is lean, racy, stony, classic Raveneau MDT
