04 has always been one of my absolute favorite vintages from Raveneau. This outstanding showing of 04 Chapelot was a perfect example. It’s stunningly complex nose makes it difficult to put down and upon first smell you’ll smile from ear to ear. And it’s no less expressive on the palate. It’s so perfectly balanced right now with its yellow fruit and earthy/mineral elements. A stunning bottle that’s in a perfect place.

These wines were had with dinner at the conclusion of the tasting with dinner brought by participants. Limited notes by this stage of proceedings. Have always thought Raveneau was top drawer Chablis with trademark oyster shell. Had 2 vintages 2010 and 2007 which were similar with the latter being fuller.

Gorgeous aromatics of white flowers ,stone fruits, minerals . Rich and full bodied on the palate with a touch of warmth on the back end with a saline finish. Overall a nice bottle.
