Les Narbantons Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Pinot Noir

This is such a special Savigny. Stunning nose of dark flowers, dark cherry fruit, gorgeous clear earth and loads of violets. I love the darker fruit profile of this wine. The nose is so fragrant. Just layered and complex but so floral. 9.6 nose. I said what I said. Palate is gorgeous but needs to catch up to the nose which it will and always does. Tannic but sweet, long and lingering and great freshness and the classic darker fruit profile that Buffet always gets from this site. Really fresh and full of energy but man oh man does this need air. Most backwards so far of all the 23 Buffets. I’ll be back. This needed 36 hours or so to come around. It’s elegant, serious and stunning but needs 20 years. 9.3 to 9.4.

So utterly classic. Nose of early season red cherrie, cherry flower, earth, stones and so so floral. A hint of ripe candied cherries but only a skoche. So classic and inviting. This is Burgundy. Juicy and clean. So sappy and pure. Velvet texture, engaging acidity and perfect balance. The balance here is extraordinary. Juicy and so clean. Wow this is so pure. This is just so textbook and transparent. Energy for days and lovely, lacey tannins. Joyful.

Stunning nose. Deep black cherry, sour cherries, that Savigny herbal element and no lack of under ripeness. Nails classic SLB 1er Cru. Violets. Floral. A stunning nose. Maybe a 9.6. Wow. I am blown away. Fruit is deep on the palate with tremendous sap, complexity and that classic Narbantons structure. Perfect balance. So pure. So Savigny. So fresh and so mineral with stunning concentration and sweet cherry fruit. Long finish. I love this. Not quite the Pernand but damn close. Such good acidity and freshness and just wonderful, classic expression of Narbantons.

Medium brilliant ruby , thin pink rim . Quite sweet strawberry , raspberry , dark cherry , blackberry , with dried spices and rose . On the palate good density , with the sweet red and dark fruits from the nose , slightly grippy tannin , balanced acidity , balanced alcohol and decent length . This comes across as juicy ,plump and crowd pleasing but with enough freshness and grip to balance . Though young and really fruit driven this is drinkable now but will continue to improve over the next 5 years or so and last well a further 5-8 .
