Cuvée Etienne Gonnet Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhône Blend

Dark fruits, bbq sauce, malty spices. Past it’s time

A ripe red fruit nose with wood. Fairly austere. On the palate tobacco, garrigue, plush damson and plum, leather. Ripe but not burnt. Tannins resolved. Good lushness and balance, complex and long. Great

A ripe pruned, stewed quality. A bit thick and dull. Alcohol, wood, a bit sun dried. Drinkable but lacks a bit of freshness and clarity

"Like a bottle of Chateauneuf du Pape..."
I don't really remember this bottle as it was the 1am final final. I drank it though. Happily.

Very good now. Good clean red fruit. Not too hot. Great Grenache.
